Commissioner Buckingham Announces Signed Memorandum of Understanding for Design Work on Coastal Texas Project
Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. is pleased to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Texas General Land Office (GLO) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for design work on the Coastal Texas Project’s Coastwide Ecosystem Restoration measures and the Coastal Storm Risk Management measure on South Padre Island.
USACE and GCPD Sign Design Agreement for the Coastal Texas
The Gulf Coast Protection District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are pleased to announce the signing of a Design Agreement to partner on the design of the Coastal Texas Project, specifically the Galveston Bay Storm Surge Barrier System and Ecosystem Restoration feature G-28.
Coastal Texas Project Provided Funding in FY 2024 Work Plan
On 5-13-24, the USACE published its 2024 Work Plan allocating a first installment of Federal funding to the Coastal Texas Project.
